Brazil - Better Than Beautiful

Trip Glimpses - South America

Artsy graffiti in Rio de Janeiro Rio de Janeiro is an interesting place. I've never seen a place with so much grafitti, but still manages to be beautiful. Graffiti seemed to be on every building and even a convent and tombstones at the cemetary weren't exempt. However, in the more resort areas it was less prevalent. Dogs are free to run the streets. Often during the busiest times of day you'd see them napping in the middle of a sidewalk without a care in the world. I visited a club in Lapa called Alto Lapa. It seemed like any other club like back in Los Angeles. However, I soon noticed that there was a lot of random making out. Strangers would exchange a few words, dance for a few minutes and then begin passionately kissing! Another contrast to clubs back home was that payment was required to exit, not to enter.

Mexico - My Amazing Journey Back In Time

Trip Glimpses - North America

Aerial view of Cancun, Mexico
In October, I decided to go to Mexico with two of my co-workers.  I knew that Mexico was big and I have been to some of the outskirts of Mexico, such as Rosarito and Tijuana. However, when planning this trip, I really wanted to experience the cultures, ancient history and get a little relaxation as well.  We decided to go to the Mayan Riviera.   We booked an all inclusive trip for 4 days and 3 nights which cost about $750.00 per person, through Expedia.

Dominican Republic - Cabarete - Passporters Expedition 2009

Trip Glimpses - Caribbean

Mon., August 10, 2009 - Pitstop in Sosua before going to Cabarete

Dominican Republic

Our four hour bus ride from Santo Domingo was very comfortable and relaxing. The tour bus temperature was set perfectly, the seats reclined and everyone on board was easy going. My sister sat next to her husband and a young man was kind enough to exchange seats with me so that I could sit next to my cousin. The scenery during the entire ride was of green country side (except for a quick pass through Santiago), which was a nice change from being in the city.
